Overview

This networking switch can be used to expand your amount of available wired networking ports. This is especially useful for a multiple-web-thermostat installation, where one internet feed is required to be split to multiple thermostats.

For example, if you had your router upstairs, and your heating/cooling equipment downstairs, you could run one Ethernet cable (or use one powerline bridge kit) to bring one wired internet connection downstairs. Then you could add this switch to split that one internet connection into four total internet connections for up to four internet thermostats.
